Engineering Manager

I. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 
Formulates the product development program to develop the most profitable new products by the most efficient means. Plans, implements, and monitors product design and development, including quality control processes. Manages technical design. Liaison with external vendors and customers.
Perform engineering work planning and designing products, tools, and processes to meet specific sales, production, and cost requirements. Engineering project management – new, modifications. Technical design and documentation. Bills of material (BOM) and routings. ECR/ECO process and approvals. .

1. Oversees key projects, processes and performance reports, data and analysis. Plans documentation system.
2. Manages technical design and project execution, including cost, stage gate timing and production capability.

3. Manages the Thermoforming engineering and tooling departments.
4. Selects, develops, trains and supervises staff.
5. Develops and implements, procedures and programs.
6. Leads the selection of design concepts and fundamental technology used for new products or improvement for existing ones.
7. Develops and implements methods and procedures for monitoring projects such as preparation of records of expenditures, progress reports, and staff conferences to inform management of current status of each project.
8. Working with the manufacturing, operations and quality manager, reviews and monitors quality and process improvements and new product development.
9. Supports the review of production costs and product quality, and modifies production and inventory control programs to maintain and enhance profitable operation of division.
10. Participates in Sales and Operations Planning to ascertain engineering requirements to develop new markets.
11. Recommends budgets to management, including staff use, technology, facility and equipment requirements or improvements.
12. Directs appropriate support for manufacturing and quality functions within the organization.
