Materials Manager

Provides production scheduling leadership at plant level while meeting customer’s needs on a consistent basis. The Master Scheduler directs, coordinates and conducts all activities associated with producing the master production schedule and partners with the management team to ensure that plant objectives are met and department resources are fully utilized.


• Plans, formulates and schedules machine time to meet customer demand.
• Creates master production schedule used to determine what is to be built and when it is to be built.
• Writes production demand reports based on data compiled.
• Reviews all data and reports provided by the customer to create the programs and tools needed in the department.
• Coordinates with the customer all scheduling need and communicates status updates while accommodating changes.
• Provides excellent customer service to all internal and external customers.
• Maintains consistent and constant contact with the customer regarding production output and meeting their needs.
• Coordinates, in partnership with corporate liaison, the procurement of material and supplies needed to build products.
• Prepares requisitions for procurement of materials and supplies.
• Provides management team with data, reports, and information needed to make decisions and manage the business.
• Understands, analyzes and predicts machine capacity, including familiarity with tools/molds and what presses they can run in.
• Manages resources to achieve 100% efficiency, 90% machine uptime and less than .5% scrap.
• Responsible for the efficient management of inventory to surpass company's cash flow objectives. 
• Responsible for the coordination of inventory reconciliation as determined by company policy working through company resources.
• Responsible for managing a cycle count inventory schedule to ensure accurate inventory is maintained and implement action items to ensure a robust scanning system is in place and maintained.
• Responsible for scheduling and managing physical inventories when required.
• Leads department personnel through clearly defined work processes.

• Leads department in meeting goals and objectives as established by the management team, while aligning with division and corporate vision, goals, and objectives.
• Provides leadership to all personnel in the department while supporting all other activities relating to the management of the organization.
• Help support building a strong team that is cross-functional across all Departments.

• Ensures that all personnel adheres to established safety policies and practices
• Consistently interprets and applies company policies. 
• Creates and maintains a work environment of ongoing development and growth.
• Conducts coaching sessions with employees.
• Accurately completes documentation associated with enforcing established discipline policies.
• Participates in recruiting, screening and hiring of employees.
• Uses sound judgment and accurate data while formulating plans of action.
• Completes performance evaluations on time as established by corporate policy.


Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university; a minimum of 10 years of progressive production scheduling experience in a plastic injection molding and automotive environment. Experienced in a fast paced manufacturing environment where meeting the customer’s needs is the top priority.
