The company we’re partnered with is a privately held contract manufacturer of automotive and military plastic solutions. In business for over 50 years, the location in Miami offers precision custom molding and value-added processes.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Project Manager with 3-5 years of experience in launching and managing new production in injection molding. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully overseeing projects from conception to end of life, including managing engineering changes throughout the project lifecycle. Candidates with PMP certification will be strongly considered for this roll, demonstrating a strong foundation in project management principles and practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage projects related to the introduction of new production in injection molding, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams including engineering, manufacturing, procurement, and quality assurance to achieve project objectives.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, schedule, budget, resources, and risk management strategies, using Microsoft Projects or similar software.
  • Monitor project progress and performance metrics regularly, identifying and addressing issues to ensure timely delivery of project milestones.
  • Effectively communicate project status, risks, and mitigation plans to stakeholders and senior management.
  • Interact professionally with customers on both technical and delivery issues, ensuring customer satisfaction and managing expectations.
  • Coordinate with third-party vendors to advocate for adherence to customer requirements.
  • Manage engineering changes and ensure their integration into the project plan without compromising project timelines or quality.
  • Identify potential risks and issues and develop mitigation strategies by analyzing project dependencies and critical path(s).
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives throughout the project lifecycle to optimize processes and enhance project delivery efficiency.
  • Conduct post-project reviews to capture lessons learned and implement best practices for future projects.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and IATF (International Automotive Task Force) standards throughout the project execution.
  • Be familiar with the APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) process as outlined by AIAG (Automotive Industry Action Group).

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or Supply Chain Management.
  • 3-5 years of experience in project management within the injection molding industry, with a focus on new production launches.
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification is highly recommended.
  • Proficiency in project management software tools, particularly Microsoft Projects.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions and levels of the organization.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with customers on technical and commercial issues.
  • Familiarity with IATF standards and the APQP process as specified by AIAG.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Six Sigma or other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Advanced degree (Master’s or MBA) in a relevant discipline.
  • Previous experience in the automotive and/or injection molding industry.
