Title: Quality Engineer
Location: Allentown, PA
Our client, a leading global company specializing in custom packaging solutions for the medical device and pharmaceutical industries, is seeking a Quality Engineer for their location in the Allentown, PA market. The company focuses on designing and manufacturing high-quality packaging using advanced plastic manufacturing technology and stringent quality control measures.
Position Overview
Responsibilities and Functions:

Collaborates with engineering and manufacturing functions to ensure quality standards are in place and maintained. Designs and implements methods and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment.

Designs and analyzes inspection and testing processes; conducts quality assurance tests; and performs statistical analysis to assess the producibility of new products or designs to meet required standards and specifications.

Perform production floor activities associated with quality, and test activities, while assisting in the corrective action board (CAB) including data gathering and analysis.

Possess technical knowledge in specifications/standards, drawing interpretation, measurement and analysis methods, process and product assessments, and corrective action methodology.

Support the Inspection Team by ensuring contractual quality requirements are flowed down to them, which may require clarifying drawing documentation and answering questions.

Manage calibration activities to ensure compliance with industry standards for calibration, NIST traceability, and documentation alignment.

Possess the ability to apply technical standards, scientific principles, theories, and concepts.

Audits quality systems for deficiency identification and correction

Ensures that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards, and that documentation is compliant with requirements.

Specialize in the areas of design validation, incoming material, production control, product evaluation and reliability, inventory control, and/or research and development as they apply to product or process quality.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
-
BS, AS in Engineering or equivalent is preferred
-
2+ years of relevant work experience in a Mechanical Manufacturing/Machining environment
Skills:
-
Possess technical knowledge in quality specifications and standards.
-
Proficiency in MS Office Applications especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
-
Proficiency in Minitab
-
PCDMIS CMM programming experience. (considered a plus)

Working knowledge of GD&T.
-
Thermoforming background is considered a plus.

Quality-related experience in the following processes: machining, forming, finishing, mechanical assembly.

Training in LEAN, Six Sigma, and CI methodologies, Certified Green Belt

Knowledge of ISO 13485 and internal auditing

Drawing interpretation and ANSI Y14.5 requirements experience
