QUALITY MANAGER

OVERVIEW:

The primary purpose of the job is to oversee all aspects of the company’s quality program, including developing, implementing, and administering the program, training, and coaching employees, and continually improving the quality processes.

 

LOCATION: Romulus, MI or Monroe, MI

SALARY RANGE: $90,000 – $100,000

TYPE: Perm/Full-Time/Exempt

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve as Management Representative for the Quality System and maintain compliance with ISO quality standards.
  • Facilitate audits by ISO 9000 assessors and maintain our registrations.
  • Ensure that materials and products adhere to quality standards, prints, and customer specifications.
  • Compile customer-required documentation such as PPAPs and custom reports as required.
  • Knowledge of the AIAG Production Part Approval Process (i.e., automotive, etc.)
  • Understanding of material specifications with the ability to analyze material data sheets, certifications of conformance and analysis, and conformance to regulations (i.e., regulations such as FDA/EU regs, REACH, etc.)
  • Select proper measuring and test equipment for various inspection tasks and document and train on their use.  Familiarity with common hand-dimensional measurement tools and techniques.
  • Run calibration system including hands-on calibrating of common instruments.  
  • Understanding of Statistical Process Control with the ability to work with SPC software to record and analyze process performance and dimensional conformance of product
  • Train production line staff in measurement practices and quality assessment of products. Instilling in individuals a quality mindset.
  • Ensure that materials and products adhere to quality standards, prints, and customer specifications.
  • Track products through the manufacturing process to guarantee that each part of the process is correct.
  • Perform detailed and recorded inspections of final products so the products are up to industry and company standards.
  • Supervise and evaluate Quality employees.
  • Implement quality programs to attain and maintain customer satisfaction.
  • Manage all customer complaints to resolution.
  • Partner with Engineering to complete risk assessments and implement risk prevention initiatives.
  • Ability to facilitate and fully document Corrective Action measures to solve problems and prevent their recurrence.
  • Communicate with direct reports on such issues as the goals of the organization, quality standards, work performance, and organizational issues.
  • Exhibit positive, supportive behavior in all interactions with co-workers, supervisors, managers, and customers.
  • Train production line staff in measurement practices and quality assessment of products.
  • May need to travel from time to time to ensure customer satisfaction.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must have 5+ years of experience in a leadership role of Quality Manager or Supervisor in a manufacturing setting.
  • Must have experience leading ISO audits/compliance
  • ASQ Quality certification is a plus, but not required.
  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university is required.
  • Must have received at least 1 Covid Vaccine
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Blueprint reading ability with some knowledge of GD&T.
