Senior Staff Accountant

Title: Senior Staff Accountant – (Hybrid work structure, between 2-3 days required to work on-site)
The Position
Our client, a global manufacturing company, is actively seeking a Senior Staff Accountant at their established manufacturing site in the Conyers-Covington area. The Senior Staff Accountant is a member of the Finance/Accounting Department. This position will report to the Controller. The position will be responsible for Cost and General Ledger Accounting areas. This role will work under a hybrid work structure, with working on-site required between 2-3 days a week.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Accounting
- Ensure that all Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable activities correctly posted to the general ledger.
- Working with accounts payable representative, prepare reporting and analysis on invoices and payments to ensure accuracy before semi-monthly payment runs.
- Perform monthly close entries and prepare account reconciliations.
- Review general ledger activity each month as part of the monthly close process to ensure accuracy and investigate variances.
- Post journal entries to the general ledger throughout the month and as part of the month-end close.
- Assist with monthly corporate financial presentation and analysis.
- Update standard and current costs by working with the engineering team.
- Regularly analyze SKU bills of materials and routings to ensure accuracy.
- Review efficiency reporting to ensure standard cost accuracy.
- Monitor inventory activity and ensure the accuracy of inventory balances.
- Generate other internal reports and requests as assigned.

Job Requirements:
Education
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
- 3-5 years of related work experience in accounting, A/R, A/P, and General Ledger preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with expertise in MS Excel.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience (Desirable)
- ERP/MRP Systems knowledge, especially with AS400 and INFOR.
- Experience with Power BI is a plus.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, walk, and/or stand. Use of computer and general office equipment daily. The employee may be required to occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds without assistance. May be needed to work more than 8 hours per day.
